Configuring Dial-Up for Windows 95 & 98



  1. Quit all applications and close all windows.

  2. Double-click the My Computer icon.

  3. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.

  4. Double-click the Make New Connection icon.

  5. Click the Next button.

  6. In the Area code box, type the area code of your Dial-up access number.

  7. In the Telephone number box, type your Dial-up access number. If you are unsure of the number, select a local number from this list http://www.pixelgate.net/dialuplocations.jsp

  8. Click the Next button.

  9. Click the Finish button.

  10. Click the My Connection icon.

  11. From the File menu, choose Properties.

  12. Click on the Server Types tab.

  13. Uncheck the box next to Log on to network.

  14. Uncheck the box next to NetBEUI.

  15. Uncheck the box next to IPX/SPX Compatible.

  16. Click the OK button.

  17. From the File menu, choose Create Shortcut.

  18. Click the Yes button.
